1. Insert the filter basket correctly
2. Be sure the carafe is centered directly under the filter basket
3. Place the lid on the carafe
4. There might be too much coffee grounds. Remove filter from the filter basket. If using a paper filter, replace with new one. Restart the coffee brewing process with proper amount of coffee grounds
5. Use only coffee that is coarser ground for drip coffee makers
